AN INVESTIGATION has been launched following the discovery of a burning corpse on a track on Sierra Helada in Benidorm on Sunday.
Police and firemen called to the scene of the fire at around 13.00 found the victim on fire with his hands tied behind him and a gunshot wound to the head.
Although not wishing to commit themselves as to the cause of death, one officer did say the incident had all the hallmarks of a revenge killing.
A police spokesman said the corpse was found in an area that borders Benidorm and Alfaz del Pi, close to Camino del Albir.
