THIS has been the third hottest summer in the Valencia Region for the last 40 years.
Only 1994 and 2003 were hotter than this year within that time span, and the average temperature in August has been one degree higher than the average.
Not only that, but the temperatures registered in July and August made this the fifth hottest summer in history since records began.
Thankfully, experts have calmed fears of torrential downpours this autumn, as at least in the short term ‘we cannot see any serious threats’.
Last summer also saw some temperature records being set, for example on July 11 when it reached 40.8 ºC in Murcia.
