Firstly, wishing you all a peaceful Easter Weekend.
Last week Monday I went into hospital for the Gallbladder operation. My doctor insisted that this is necessary before the transplant can take place to avoid further inflammation before or after the transplant as this can have serious consequences.
On Tuesday morning I had my four hour dialyses session and straight afterwards was rolled into the theatre. I woke up around 4 in the afternoon, still in the wake-up room as my bloodpressure stayed on 80/50 and they wanted to observe this before taking me back to the room. Once back in my room, I was too tired and weak to even write a sms to friends and family and with a strong painkiller just fell into a deep sleep.
On Wednesday morning I was starving and looked forward to a nice fresh breadroll.. lo and behold, they served me two dried “zwieback” and black tea – I knew I was in hospital 🙂
Thursday afternoon I had my dialysis session again and on Friday I was allowed to go home.
It was nice to be back in your own four walls again, but I did miss the hospital bed that you could set to be as comfortable as possible – difficult to sleep on your back the whole time – and nobody told me that is will be so tender and sore, in and around the navel area.
Last night I could turn on my side for the first time, the pain is also better and I think it will improve from day to day. I enjoy my 2 dialysis free days, even if we do not have too much sun today, but is is still pleasant outside.
Thank you all for the good wishes and the interest.
