On the 8th April 2011, David adopted a tree in Sao Felix. On the 9th April a tree was planted in his name: an Angico Vermelho (Parapitadenia pterosperma Benth. Brenan) on the farm Capivari. His tree has the number 45184 and was planted in lot 54. The Angico Vermelho reaches a height up to 20 meters. It is a decorative tree which is excellently suited for reforestation. It needs a lot of sun and therefore loses its leaves in the cold season. The timber is used for making furniture and also for the construction of houses. In 2001, we launched the generation-spanning Adopt a Tree project in the Mata Fina region of Bahia (Brazil), the area in which DANNEMANN operations originally began.
The project goal is to give something lasting back to the unique nature of the Mata Fina region – in line with our core value “responsibility towards the origin of tobacco”.
