You never know how you’ll react in an emergency… not until you find yourself in such a situation. It’s easy to panic and forget everything when taken off-guard by the unexpected. Knowing what to do, and reminding yourself every now and then, can really make a difference in a crisis situation.
SOS EMERGENCY

The European-wide emergency telephone number is 112. This can be used in any country in the EU, and dialled from any telephone (even a public pay phone – without the use of a phone card or coins). Make sure that your children also know this number and how to call it. Some people recommend teaching a child to remember by using the face: one mouth, one nose, two eyes.

To find out who to call and what to say in an emergency, see the AngloINFO INFOrmation Page on:

*Emergency Telephone Numbers – Costa Blanca

This page explains the emergency services and detail the essential contacts for police, fire and medical responders, as well as other kinds of emergency help such as vets and sea rescue.

If you need to find these details in a hurry, see the right-side menu of any page on AngloINFO: look for “Emergencies” under the main heading, “Essential Information”.

It’s always useful to know what to do in the case of lost or stolen credit cards, cheque book or mobile telephones. If you’ve been robbed, lost a bag or simply misplaced something, here’s where you can find out who to call to put a stop on your cards or phone as quickly as possible:

Many people miss some of the “treasures” in the Costa Blanca area,
simply from the fact they only think of the Costa Blanca as only as
place of sun, sand and beaches!

They miss what is hiding off the coast!

Whenever we share with you places to visit in the Costa Blanca, we
try to give you places to experience away from the popular places
all the “uninformed” tourist visit.

During the summer months the Costa Blanca coastline is full of
tourists enjoying the beach and sun, but missing out on all the other
sites and towns to discover and make their visit a lifetime memory.

Today we will travel north of Alicante and away from the coast
to the city of Cocentaina. Over the last few years Cocentaina
has experienced a remarkable restoration and transformation.

Where exactly is Cocentaina? It’s located next to the more popular
city of Alcoy, 40 mins norths of Alicante

Once you arrive in Cocentaina, immediately notice a city sparkling
clean creating a perfect setting for building dating back to the
13th to 15th century we refer more often to as the Gothic to Renaissance
period. Your eyes will soon be drawn and fall in love with
detail of the restored home and building facades in Cocentaina.

For those who want to get a real historic glimpse of the
Costa Blanca Moor and Christian past the city of Cocentaina
must be on the “places to visit list”.

I would call Cocentaina a hidden jewel amongst those historic cities.
